CCTV on Sluice Gates Should Keep Being Monitored

Entering the rainy season, Jakarta Water Management is asked to keep monitoring closed circuit television (CCTV), particularly on sluice gates. It is for the water flow being divided and not leaving puddle on certain points.

See which gate that should be opened so the water can be divided evenly

"Management Unit of Water Management should keep monitoring CCTV on sluice gates. See which gate that should be opened so the water can be divided evenly," said Basuki Tahaja Purnama, Jakarta Governor, during executive meeting at City Hall, Monday (11/16).

According to him, dividing the flow is the way to anticipate flood. So that the water will not flow just on one point. "Don't let one flow has no water flowing, while the other has so much water. Anticipating flood is not only by constructing dam but also dividing water," he asserted.

He added, that way has been taken by Holland in anticipating flood. So that it is made some sluice gates as the way to divide water to the channels existed. "That's the old story, so Holland made the sluice gates for dividing," he explained.
